You want to back up files or folders with Acronis Ransomware Protection, but once you select the files, this error message appears:

Only files stored on your local disks can be added.


Acronis Ransomware Protection can back up files and folders located on the internal disks of your computer or attached USB drives.

This message indicated that you have selected a file that is not stored on your computer, but instead it is stored:

  • on another computer
  • on a NAS device
  • on a drive plugged in into your router's USB port
  • in a Parallels Desktop shared folder


Exclude all files from network locations from the backup.
