Backup fails with:
Cannot create a backup of the specified type in archive 'archive' because it contains backups of another type. A backup archive can contain backups of one type only.
This error occurs if:
- in a disk-level backup plan, you have changed items in What to back up from disks to files and folders, or vice versa
- in a backup plan, you have changed backup format from 'version 11' to 'version 12', or vice versa
- archive got corrupted
If you have edited the backup plan, create a new backup plan and select the data to be protected and backup format.
If you have not edited the backup plan, validate the backup (see details here). If validation confirms that the archive is corrupted, recreate backup. We recommend that you check hardware (as this might be a sign of your storage's hardware issues) and add all Acronis processes to exclusions of your anti-virus software (see details here). If validation proves that the archive is not corrupted, collect system information from the affected agent machine and from Acronis Management Server. Contact Acronis Customer Central.
If a backup to Acronis Cloud fails with this error message, collect:
- system information from the affected agent machine and from Acronis Management Server
- cloud certificate from the affected agent machine.
