Prepare drivers

Prepare an empty folder for drivers, it will be referenced further as a Drivers Folder.

Intel C610 chipset drivers

  1. Download Chipset_Driver_3X9CG_WN64_10.1.2.77_A07.EXE file from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=3X9CG.
  2. Launch it and click Extract, choose a folder to extract package contents to.
  3. Open Command Prompt, locate the folder from step 2 and issue the following command:
    SetupChipset.exe /extract c610
  4. Copy the c610 folder with extracted drivers into Drivers Folder.

Intel C610 chipset USB 3.0 driver

  1. Download Chipset_Driver_6CRD9_WN64_4.0.5.55_A03.EXE file from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=6CRD9.
  2. Launch it and click Extract, choose a folder to extract package contents to.
  3. Locate the Drivers subfolder inside the folder from step 2 and copy it into Drivers Folder under usb3 name.

PERC H730 Controller

  1. Download SAS-RAID_Driver_CP0KR_WN64_6.603.07.00_A04.EXE file from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=CP0KR.
  2. Launch it and click Extract, choose a folder to extract package contents to.
  3. Locate the Drivers subfolder inside the folder from step 2 and copy it into Drivers Folder under h330 name.
  4. Open <Drivers Folder\h330> and perform the following file renaming:
    • driverconfigparam.def -> DriverConfigParam.def
    • PercSas3.sys -> percsas3.sys

PERC S130 Controller

  1. Download SAS-RAID_Driver_DVYVM_WN64_4.2.0-0009_A00.EXE file from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverI....
  2. Launch it and click Extract, choose a temporary folder to extract package contents into.
  3. Locate payload\win764 subfolder inside the temporary folder from step 2 and copy it into Drivers Folder under s130 name.

Intel RSTe AHCI & SCU Software RAID driver

  1. Download RSTe_and_AHCI_Drivers_GUI_CLI_CIM_4.1.2.1011.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ru/download/25751/Intel-RSTe-AHCI-amp-SCU-Software-RAID-driver-Windows- .
  2. Extract contents into a folder.
  3. Locate Drivers\x64\WinXP64_Vista\ folder inside and copy it into Drivers Folder under rste name.

Prepare Acronis Universal Restore Linux-based bootable media

  1. Launch Universal Restore Bootable Media Builder.
  2. On the first screen, click Next.
  3. On the second screen, leave all settings default and click Next.
    • Bootable media type: Default (Linux-based media)
    • Windows-like representation
  4. On the third screen, click Next.
  5. On the next screen, select Acronis Universal Restore (64-bit) and click Next.
  6. Choose the destination media to write bootable media to and click Next.
  7. On the Specify Windows drivers page, leave the list empty and click Next.
  8. On the last page, click Proceed and wait until media is created.
  9. Place Drivers Folder into the prepared media or any other media/location available from the target system.

Apply Universal Restore

  1. Boot target system with the prepared media, Acronis Universal Restore window appears.
  2. In the Automatic driver search section, click Add folder and choose the Drivers Folder from the media/location placed there in step 9 of the previous section.
  3. Click OK and wait until completion.
  4. Click Reboot.
  5. Wait up to 5 minutes after the first system restart, then system will restart again and boot into recovered Windows.

If Linux-based media is unbootable or fails when applying Universal Restore, build a WinPE-based media (see the next section) and retry steps 1-5 above.

Prepare Acronis Universal Restore WinPE-based bootable media

  1. Launch Universal Restore Bootable Media Builder.
  2. On the first screen, click Next.
  3. On the second screen, select Windows PE, then click the link near the To build a Windows PE 5.0 media section, and save adksetup.exe.
  4. Launch adksetup.exe and click Next until you reach the Select the features you want to install dialog box. Leave only Deployment tools & Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) options checked, click Install and wait until installation completes.
  5. Restart Universal Restore Bootable Media Builder, choose Windows PE, select Create x64 media and Create WinPE automatically, and then click Next.
  6. On the Specify path to drivers screen, click Add and choose Drivers Folder, then click Next.
  7. On the Select the media output screen, choose ISO, and then specify location and name for the ISO file.
  8. On the Summary screen, click Proceed and wait for completion.
  9. Use the prepared ISO to build a media (CD/DVD/USB Flash etc) which is suitable to boot target system. NOTE! For USB flash use GPT partition scheme and FAT32 file system.
  10. Place Drivers Folder into prepared media or any other media/location available from the target system.
