Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud supports a variety of storage devices. You can select these destinations to store your backups:

  • Cloud storage
    Backups will be stored in the cloud data center. Map of Acronis data centers.
  • Local folders
    Backups will be stored on an internal or external drive.
  • Network folder
    This is a folder shared via SMB/CIFS. For example, it can be a share on a NAS device or on another computer.
  • NFS folder
    Available for machines running Linux or OS X.
  • Secure Zone
    Secure Zone is a secure partition on a disk of the backed-up machine. This partition has to be created manually prior to configuring a backup. For information about how to create Secure Zone, its advantages and limitations, refer to About Secure Zone.
  • Defined by a script (advanced storage option)
    Available for machines running Windows. Each machine's backups will be stored in a folder defined by a script. When deploying the backup plan, the software runs the script on each machine. The script output for each machine should be a local or network folder path.

Backup destination is selected in every backup plan. By default, cloud storage is selected.

To select another destination:

  1. Click the Where to back up field:
  2. Click to select one of the options, and then click Browse or provide the path to the location:

You can define up to 5 additional locations. In this case, each backup will be copied to a secondary location immediately after creation. This feature is called Backup Replication. Replication is useful, when:

  • you want to store your backups both on-site (for immediate recovery) and off-site (to secure the backups from local storage failure or a natural disaster)
  • you want to use the cloud storage to protect data from a natural disaster
  • you want to sparingly use space available in the first storage (for each storage, you can set up individual rules to delete older backups)
