  1. You are trying to perform a remote installation of an Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 component;

Cause

The most probable cause is that a previous attempt of remote installation was interrupted, and there are installation traces left on the target machine.

Solution

On the target machine (the remote installation to which fails), do the following:

  • Stop Acronis Install Service, if it is present and running:
    • Click Start -> Run;
    • Type in services.msc and hit Enter;
    • if Acronis Install Service is present in the list of services, right-click on it and select Stop.
  • Locate in the Windows system folder and delete the following file:

    acroinst.exe

  • Delete the the temporary installation service subkey by issuing the following command from Windows command prompt (Start-Run):

    sc delete Reminst
