use Google Translate

Operating Systems:

As a workaround, disable the VSS support in Acronis True Image Echo

This article applies to:

Symptoms

  1. Using Acronis True Image Echo you are backing up a system with VSS;
  2. Under Backup options -> Database support you tick off the Enable VSS support option;
  3. After you click Proceed to start the backup operation, Acronis True Image Echo or the whole server hangs.

Cause

The VSS does not properly handle the VSS snapshot abort operation.

For detailed description of the Acronis True Image Echo VSS backup algorithm see Using Microsoft VSS instead of Acronis VSS.

Solution

As a workaround, disable the VSS support by unchecking the Enable VSS support option in Backup options -> Database support.

Try to back up again.

In Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 you can enable native Microsoft VSS instead of Acronis VSS Provider. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Using Microsoft VSS instead of Acronis VSS.
