47582: Acronis Files Connect: Number of licences vs. Number of connections

Question:  You have e.g. a 50 client perpetual license of Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) which gives 50 users access to a single windows server. One Mac user is connecting two different ways (e.g. Wi-Fi and LAN). How many licenses per client do you need?

Answer: This configuration is totally normal and happens on pretty much every server. Two connections from the same user and IP address will only use one license in fact.

If you look in the Debug log, you will see the actual number of connected users, their status and the licenses used. Here is an example:
Number Users – Total = 2, Active = 2, Idle = 0, Sleeping = 0, Waiting For Reconnect = 0, User Licenses = 1
