Boot your Mac into OS X Utilities and select "Recover from Acronis Backup"
Introduction
Make sure you have a backup and Acronis Bootable Media:
Partitioning
When restoring to an unpartitioned drive (for example, a new drive), create partitions before restoring:
- Start or restart your Mac and hold down the Option key while Mac is starting. The boot menu will be displayed.
- Choose Disk Utility.
- Create partitions on the disk (see this article for help). You need to create a partition structure matching the one of the backed up disk. For example, the backed up disk had an EFI partition, a System partition and a RecoveryHD. You need to create 3 partitions on the new disk matching the partitions on the old one.
Solution
- Connect your removable drive with Acronis Bootable Media to your Mac;
- Start or restart your Mac and hold down the Option key while Mac is starting. The boot menu will be displayed.
- Choose Acronis Media as a device to boot from.
- Select Recover from True Image Backup:
- Locate the backup that contains the data to recover;
- From the Version list, select the backup version from which you want to recover your Mac. The contents of the version are displayed;
- Select the check boxes next to the partitions that you want to recover;
- Select a destination for each partition. By default, Acronis True Image recovers partitions to the original location;
- To start recovery, click Recover, and then confirm that you want to erase all data on the destination partitions;
- When recovery is complete, restart your Mac.
