46000: Acronis Backup: DFS Support

DFS (Distirbuted File System) shares are supported in Acronis Backup.

To create a managed vault on a DFS share, Acronis Storage Node Service user should have Read, Write and Modify permissions for each DFS share it is accessing. To create an unmanaged or personal vault these permissions should be granted for the user of Acronis Managed Machine service.

To access a vault located on a DFS share from any Acronis Agent including bootable media, connect the agent or the media to the Storage Node to wich the vault is attached:

bsp://StorageNodeMachine/VaultName

For Acronis Backup (Advanced) 11.5 users

Do the following to create an unmanaged vault or a personal vault on a DFS share:

  1. On the Agent machine, open the Registry (Start -> Run -> regedit.exe), navigate to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Acronis/global/configuration/ and create a DWORD named UseServiceCredentialsForShareAccess with Value 1.
  2. Restart Acronis Managed Machine Service (Start -> Run -> services.msc)

Note: Acronis Bootable Media can only work with managed vaults created on a DFS share.
