Description

Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance)

Agents for ESX(i) run as virtual appliances in the vCloud resource group. If a cluster contains a big number of backed up virtual machines, you may want to deploy more than one agent to this cluster.

vSphere capacity requirements for Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance):

Memory Disk Size CPU Number
1 GB 6 GB (thick provisioning) 2 (the default Virtual Appliance setting)
4-8 (recommended if backing up 5-10 VMs simultaneously)

 

Agent for vCloud

Agent for vCloud needs to be imported from the OVF template to the management cluster.

vSphere capacity requirements for Agent for vCloud:

2 GB 8 GB (thick provisioning) 1

Management Server

Acronis Management Server needs to be installed in the management cluster on a virtual machine running Windows.

vSphere capacity requirements for a machine running Windows Server 2003/2008 R2 and the specified components:
