Reactivating your copy of Acronis True Image 2014 or moving the installation to a different machine

Activation:

Symptoms

You receive the following message:

Too many activations

Cause

• You exceed the limit of available activations. For example, you have a Standard edition and attempt to install Acronis True Image 2014 on more than 1 machine;
• You reinstall or upgrade your operating system;
• You upgrade your machine with new hardware;
• You replace your machine with a new one.

If you want to use Acronis True Image 2014 on more machines than you license allows, you will need to purchase additional serial numbers and activate the new copies.

If you have reinstalled or upgraded your operating system or hardware, or simply moved the product to a different machine, reactivate Acronis True Image 2014 in the new environment.

Solution

The reactivation process depends on whether the new machine is connected to the Internet or not.

If the machine is connected to the Internet

1. Start the product and go to Help -> Activate:

   

2. On the Too many activations prompt select Deactivate one of the previous installations:

   

3. You will be forwarded to Acronis Activation website. Submit your login and password for your Acronis account (if you do not have an account, click Create account to create it):

   

4. Choose the machine whose activation you want to cancel (this will be most likely an previous installation that you are not going to use anymore) and click Move license:

   

5. Restart the product on your new computer to apply changes.

If the new computer is not connected to the Internet

1. Start the product and go to Help –> Activate:

   

2. On the Failed to connect to the Acronis activation server prompt select Activate from another computer:

   

3. Save your installation code to file:

   

4. Transfer the file to the computer which is connected to Internet; open Activation page and load the installation code from the file:

   

5. Select Move license from another computer;

   

6. Submit your login and password from your Acronis account (if you do not have an account, click Create account to create it):

   

7. Choose the machine whose activation you want to cancel (this will be most likely an previous installation that you are not going to use anymore) and click Move license:

   

8. Write down your activation code or save it to a file:

   

9. Launch Acronis True Image 2014 and go to Help-> Activate, then again select the option Activate from another computer. The program will display the Acronis True Image 2014 Activation window with installation code. Press Load from file to submit the activation code and press Activate:
