    • You set up when to start the scheduled task and define Retention rules:

    • In Apply retention rules you select Before backup:

    • After you click OK, the product will create the backup plan:

  2. Now you have a scheduled backup task with retention rules to be applied before backup. The task can be viewed under Backup plans and tasks:

  3. You choose to run the scheduled backup task manually by right-clicking on the task and selecting Run or clicking Run on the toolbar:

  4. The backup task will run successfully, but the associated retention rules will not apply.

Cause

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 does not have the capability of executing the retention rules script associated with the backup task, when the backup task is started manually.

On schedule, the product runs one by one all the tasks associated in with the backup plan. You can view all the tasks by expanding the backup plan:

When you select to manually run one of the scheduled tasks, the associated tasks (other tasks in the backup plan) will not run.

Solution

In the due scheduled time, all the tasks in the backup plan will run.

You can also manually run the scheduled tasks one by one by clicking the backup plan -> Run and selecting the task to run.
