Summary:
A variety of performance counters have been included in the 5.0 version of Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) to help administrators monitor load, diagnose performance bottlenecks and detect problems with shares and print queues. It can be useful to trigger an Email alert when a particular counter falls past some boundary.
Description:
Examples of events you can use to trigger an email alert:
Volume is offline (Volume is offline = 1)
Print Queue is offline (Is Queue Online < 1)
Disk IO approaching limit (Disk Idle < 5%)
This PDF describes how to set up an email alert triggered by a performance counter using the "Print Queue is online < 1" example. This is a two step process:
- Configure a VBScript and .bat file to send an email
- Configure a Perfmon Alert trigger
