Question:
What does the following warning mean "Warning: The configured Master Server is not resolvable by the Acronis Files Connect (formerly ExtremeZ-IP) server. This may cause problems with users of the Acronis Files Connect Zidget. This may be due to the specified Master Server name not being present in DNS."?
Answer:
This warning is informational and does not represent a critical error in your Acronis Files Connect settings. This error means that you have not created a DNS record (alias or cname) for the default auto-discovery host name - ExtremeZIPServerList.[yourdomain.com]. The Acronis Files Connect Zidget uses this name to find the server. If your Macintosh users are not currently using the Acronis Files Connect Zidget for file and print browsing, creating this DNS record is not required.
The Acronis Files Connect Zidget (dashboard widget) was introduced in Acronis Files Connect 5.0. It can be used to facilitate file and print resource browsing. For more information on how to deploy the Acronis Files Connect Zidget, please see the Quick Start Guide and Manual located in the Acronis Files Connect installation directory.
