39151: Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7/11.5 for Exchange: Useful Registry Keys

use Google Translate

Sometimes it may be useful to change Acronis Agent for Exchange default behavior to achieve better results in specific environments.

Disable backup validation

HKLM\Software\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\ArxAgent: DisableBackupValidation (dword: {0|1}, by default 0)

This parameter disables validation of the Exchange backup data (integrity of the database files and transaction log files). Disabling backup validation may be useful in the following cases:

  • In Exchange 2010 SP2 there is no need to validate Exchange data because it is checked by Exchange server itself automatically - disabling it will make backups take less time.
  • It can be used for troubleshooting problems with validation.

Disable environment pre-checks

HKLM\Software\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\ArxAgent: DisableEnvironmentPrechecks (dword: {0|1}, by default 0)

This parameter disables the environment "health" pre-check during backup/restore and Exchange Live Browsing.

If some problem fails pre-checks and prevents further operation, then it may be useful to disable pre-operation checks using this registry parameter.

Temporary files folders

In build 32308 or later:

HKLM\Software\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\Settings\ApplicationsCommon: TempPath (string)

In previous builds:

HKLM\Software\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\ArxAgent\Settings: TempPath (string)

Path to the folder where temporary data is being stored. By default (if no key is defined) an MMS service user temp folder or \ProgramData\Acronis\Temp.

In case there is not much free room on the default location's drive it may be useful to change temporary folder using this registry parameter.
