Backup fails with "Cannot continue backup. There is not enough free space on the drive where the snapshot cache file is located.". You can solve this issue by moving the destination for temporary file of snapshot.

Symptoms

During a backup operation, you receive an error similar to this:

Cannot continue backup.
There is not enough free space on the drive where the snapshot cache file is located.

Cause

Acronis Backup & Recovery creates a temporary File during Snapshot. The file is a temporary container that receives all pending write operations until the backup creation completes.

The default relative size is 20% of the free partition space.

Solution
