Deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and uninstall Acronis True Image 8.0/9.0 Home before installing Acronis True Image Home 2010

Symptoms
- You install Acronis True Image Home 2010 over Acronis True Image 8.0 Home or Acronis True Image 9.0 Home;
- You reboot the machine to complete the installation;
- After the reboot, there is the following error message:
Non-system disk, press any key...
- Once booted into Windows, Acronis Secure Zone is inaccessible:
Cause
This is a compatibility issue of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and Acronis True Image 8.0 Home or Acronis True Image 9.0 Home.
Solution
Preventive
Before installing Acronis True Image Home 2010, do the following:
- In Acronis True Image 8.0 Home or Acronis True Image 9.0 Home, deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager if it is activated;
- Uninstall Acronis True Image 8.0/9.0 Home through Add/Remove Programs (Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs);
- Install Acronis True Image Home 2010.
Resultive
If you have installed Acronis True Image Home 2010 over Acronis True Image 8.0 Home or Acronis True Image 9.0 Home, do the following:
- When you get the Non-system disk, press any key error message, press any key. You should be able to boot into Windows successfully;
- Once booted, run Acronis True Image Home 2010 and activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.
