After restoring a virtual machine, the previously defined network adapter is lost if you are using special characters in the name of the virtual network where restored virtual machine was connected. To fix the issue, rename the virtual network name and remove the special characters
This article applies to:
- Acronis vmProtect 7
- Acronis vmProtect 8
(!) The issue has been fixed in Acronis vmProtect 9.
- You have a backup of a virtual machine. The virtual machine has one or several network adapters configured in the virtual machine options;
- You restore the backup to a new virtual machine;
- After the restore one or multiple network adapters are lost from the virtual machine options.
The issue may appear if the virtual network (default name is "VM network") has special characters (e.g. "Å", "Å" and "Ö") in the network name in ESX.
Remove the special characters from the network name and recreate the backup.
