35403: Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7/11.5 for Exchange: Powershell Log Runs Full after Exchange Backup

Creating backups from MS Exchange using the Acronis Exchange Agent causes log entries in PowerShell. This can be solved by deleting the PowerShell subkey under Event Log in Windows Registry.

Symptoms

After creating backups from MS Exchange (information store or mailbox) using the Acronis Exchange Agent, the PowerShell logs run full with entries similar to this:

"The description for Event ID ( 600 ) in Source ( PowerShell ) cannot be found..."

Cause

Event logging for PowerShell is activated for MS Exchange.

Solution

Please delete the PowerShell subkey in Microsoft Windows Registry to solve this issue.

  1. Go to Start -> Run -> regedit.exe
  2. Navigate to this key: 
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\
  3. If there an subkey PowerShell exist, delete it.

    In the following screenshot the subkey to delete is marked in red:

    (!) The Windows PowerShell key marked in green should not be deleted.

  4. Restart the machine.
