BitLocker is the encryption software distributed with the following Windows editions:
- Windows Vista Ultimate
- Windows Vista Enterprise
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- Windows 7 Enterprise
BitLocker encrypts the data along with the file system structures.
Backing up with True Image 2013
In terms of making a backup, Acronis Bootable Media is incompatible with BitLocker.
If you need to make a backup encrypted with BitLocker, please do it by running True Image 2013 in Windows.
Restoring with True Image 2013
If you need to restore an entire disk (as opposed to restoring a partition), please do it from Acronis Bootable Media.
(!) After the restore the data will be unencrypted. If you need to have it encrypted, please turn on BitLocker once you boot the restored system. Thus, you may want to protect the backup with a password.
Cloning with True Image 2013
(!) The Cloning feature of Acronis True Image Home is incompatible with BitLocker. As a workaround, you can first create a full disk backup from Windows, and then restore it to a different disk from Acronis Bootable Media.
