This article describes how to manually remove all traces of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 from Windows
This article applies to:

Introduction
You can always remove Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 components via Windows Control Panel.
Also, you can use the cleanup tool for automatic uninstallation of the product components from Windows. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Cleanup Utility.
Solution
- Deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (if you have it activated). See also Acronis Startup Recovery Manager;
- Remove Acronis Secure Zone if you have one on the machine. See also Deleting Acronis Secure Zone;
- Remove Acronis Backup Archive Explorer (Timounter). See also Removing Acronis Backup Archive Explorer;
- Remove SnapAPI drivers:
- Go to Start -> Run -> regedit, and verify that there are no snapman*, tdrpman*, fltsrv, timounter strings in the UpperFilters and LowerFilters of the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Do not delete the keys! - If there are any, please remove them. Then you may reboot the machine.
- Go to Start -> Run -> regedit, and verify that there are no snapman*, tdrpman*, fltsrv, timounter strings in the UpperFilters and LowerFilters of the following keys:
- Delete all of the Acronis services (Start-Run) -> sc delete "Service Name":
(!) Not all of them may be present in the system:
- Acronis VSS Provider
- MMS
- AMS
- AcronisAgent
- AcronisPXE
- AcrSch2Svc
- AcronisFS
- StorageNode
- AcronisBackupServerService
- GroupServer
- ARSM
- AmsWebServer
- Delete the databases:
- Identify the value at SOFTWARE\Acronis\AMS\ConnectionStrings
- Delete the databases
- Unregister VSS by issuing the following commands:
- regsvr32.exe /u /s snapapivss.dll
- regsvr32.exe /u /s vsscom.dll
- regsvr32.exe /u /s vsscomproxy.dll
- Stop the following Acronis processes:
- TimounterMonitor.exe
- schedhlp.exe
- TrayMonitor.exe
- BackupAndRecoveryMonitor.exe
- TrueImageMonitor.exe
- Stop the following Windows process:
- explorer.exe
- Remove the following groups and users:
- Acronis Centralized Admins
- Acronis Remote Users
- AcronisBackupServerUsers
- All users that have the following in their names:
- Acronis
- AMS User
- ASN User
- Acronis Agent User
- _acro_subst_user_
- Delete the following registry keys:
Autorun/Startup:
- SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Acronis Scheduler2 Service
- SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\BackupAndRecoveryMonitor.exe
- SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\TrayMonitor.exe
