28442: Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced: Installation Fails on Read-Only Domain Controller

Symptoms

  1. You are installing Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on a read-only domain controller (RODC);
  2. The installation fails;
  3. In the installation log there is a message similar to the following one:
    • If you selected to use an existing user for Acronis services:

      AddUserToLocalGroup: add user 'DOMAIN\administrator' to the group ''Backup Operators' failed with error '' (1313720)

      View sample log: existing user

    • If you selected to create new account for Acronis services:

      CreateNewUser: LocalUserAdd failed with error '1313720'

      CreateServiceUser: failed

      View sample log: new user

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

As a workaround, install the product under an existing user that belongs to the Backup operators group.
