The backup on the network share has been moved or deleted. Use the "Remove the list" option to delete the backup and recreate it
This article applies to:
- Acronis True Image Home 2012
- You have a backup stored on a network share;
- You attempt to edit the backup settings:
- The attempt fails with the following error:

Error message: Failed to open archive
The backup file (or a chain of them), which you are trying to delete, cannot be found in the backup location folder on the network share.
For example, you have deleted the backup manually or moved it to a different location.
Use the Remove from the list option to remove the backup from Acronis True Image Home 2012:
Then add the backups that you have using the Browse for backup option:
Then right click on the added backup and select Recreate backup settings:
If you need to move backup, please use the Move option:
The Move option moves all the backup files to the location you specify. The subsequent backup versions will be saved to the new location.
