Install Acronis driver updates to resolve the issue

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image Home 2012 
• Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 (Windows editions)

Symptoms

After installation of the above-mentioned Acronis products, some brands of USB flash drives and USB hard disks are not detected in My Computer in Windows.

Cause

Issue in the product.

Acronis drivers are not compatible with certain flash drive controllers.

Solution

For Acronis True Image Home 2012:

1. Download archive with driver updates: snapapi_virtualdisk.zip
2. Unpack the archive and install both driver updates: SnapAPISetup.msi and VirtualDiskSetup.msi (in any order);
3. Reboot the machine.
   

For Acronis Backup & Recovery 11:

• Download archive with driver update: snapapi.zip
• Unpack the archive and install SnapAPISetup.msi;
• Reboot the machine.
