Creating an MS Installer Log of Acronis True Image Home 2012

If there is an issue with installation of Acronis True Image Home 2012, it is useful to create an installation log and send it along with your request for support.

Solution

Gather MS Installer log automatically:

  1. If the installation fails the product will display a window with appropriate error message. Press Save error log to file:

    (!) Due to an issue in the product the function Send error log to Acronis Technical Support does not work. Please use the option Save error log to file.

  2. Select a location where to save the log, e.g. Desktop:

  3. Please ZIP the log and send it to Acronis Customer Central with a description of the issue and a reference to this article.

Gather MS Installer log manually

In case there is an issue with creating MS Installer log automatically, you can gather the log manually:

  1. Put the installation file of Acronis True Image Home 2012 in the root folder of disc C:\.
  2. Download atih2012_log_install.zip and unzip it;
  3. Run ATIH2012_Log_Install.exe. Installation will start:

  4. Follow the wizard instructions for installation and reproduce the issue;
  5. Installation log will be created on C:\AcronisTrueImageLog.zip

  6. Send the log to Acronis Customer Central with a description of the issue and a reference to this article.
