Introduction

For a general article and information on how to extract MSI files see Installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 from Windows Command-Line.

Preparing the target machine:

  1. Install Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) (required):

    mdac_typ.exe /q /c:"dasetup.exe /q /n"

  2. Install .NET Framework 2.0 or higher (required):

    Windows 32 bit: dotnetfx.exe /q /c:"install.exe /q /n"
    Windows 64 bit: NetFx64.exe /q /c:"install.exe /q /n"

  3. Install Microsoft SQL Express with a custom instance name (required):

    sqlexpr_sp3.exe ADDLOCAL=SQL_Engine INSTANCENAME="<instance name>" /qn /quiet

    Example

    sqlexpr_sp3.exe ADDLOCAL=SQL_Engine INSTANCENAME="ACRONIS" /qn /quiet

Also possible with the default instance name (sqlexpress):

    sqlexpr_sp3.exe ADDLOCAL=SQL_Engine /qn /quiet

Solution

With the target machine prepared, install Acronis Management Server:

(!) To install Acronis Management Server, SQL services must be started.

msiexec.exe /i AcronisManagementServer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ALLUSERS=1 GS_SERVICE_USERNAME=<user name for AMS service> GS_SERVICE_PASSWORD=<AMS user password> SERVICE_USER_NAME=<SQL service user credentials> SERVICE_USER_PASSWORD=<SQL service user password> AMS_OPERATIONAL_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=<machine with SQL>\<SQL instance name>;Integrated Security=SSPI;" AMS_REPORTING_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=<machine with SQL>\<SQL instance name>;Integrated Security=SSPI;" /qn /quiet

When installing on local machine, the DATABASE's parameters may be defined as (local)\ACRONIS.

When installing on the same machine with the Microsoft SQL running under Administrator's account, the SERVICE_USER_* parameters may be dropped.

You can specify CREATE_NEW_ACCOUNT=1 instead of inserting GS_SERVICE_USERNAME and GS_SERVICE_PASSWORD.

Full installation command example:

msiexec.exe /i AcronisManagementServer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ALLUSERS=1 GS_SERVICE_USERNAME=Administrator GS_SERVICE_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE GS_SERVICE_CONFIRM_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE SERVICE_USER_NAME=Administrator SERVICE_USER_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE SERVICE_USER_CONFIRM_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE AMS_OPERATIONAL_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" AMS_REPORTING_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" /qn /quiet

Common installation command example:

msiexec.exe /i AcronisManagementServer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ALLUSERS=1 CREATE_NEW_ACCOUNT=1 AMS_OPERATIONAL_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" AMS_REPORTING_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" /qn /quiet

Example of a batch for a step-by-step Acronis Management Server installation:

start /wait mdac_typ.exe /q /c:"dasetup.exe /q /n"

start /wait dotnetfx.exe /q /c:"install.exe /q /n"

start /wait sqlexpr_sp3.exe ADDLOCAL=SQL_Engine INSTANCENAME="ACRONIS" /qn /quiet

msiexec.exe /i AcronisManagementServer.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL ALLUSERS=1 GS_SERVICE_USERNAME=Administrator GS_SERVICE_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE SERVICE_USER_NAME=Administrator SERVICE_USER_PASSWORD=qwe123QWE AMS_OPERATIONAL_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" AMS_REPORTING_DATABASE="Provider=sqloledb;Data Source=(local)\ACRONIS;Integrated Security=SSPI;" /qn /quiet
