19352: Acronis Backup & Recovery: Connecting to Acronis Bootable Media

You can boot the machine from Acronis Bootable Media and manage it locally or remotely

Description

You can use Acronis Bootable Media to back up and recover a machine offline. Different versions of Acronis Backup & Recovery allow local and remote management.

Local management

All versions of Acronis Backup & Recovery allow to manage local machine using Acronis Bootable Media.

  1. Boot from Acronis Bootable Media. When Acronis Rescue Media boot menu appears, select Acronis Backup & Recovery:

Remote management

In Advanced versions of Acronis Backup & Recovery, you can connect to Linux-based Acronis Bootable Agent from a remote machine using Acronis Management Console.

(!) Remote connection to WinPE -based media is not possible. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Remote Connection to WinPE Is Not Supported.

  1. Boot from Acronis Bootable Media. When Acronis Rescue Media boot menu appears, select Acronis Backup & Recovery:

  2. When Acronis Bootable Agent window appears, note the address in the IP address field:

    (!) To change change IP address and other parameters press Configure network.

  3. On a different machine, launch Acronis Backup & Recovery Management Console and select Manage a Remote Machine.
  4. In the Machine field, specify the IP address of Acronis Bootable Agent:

    If you specified credentials to be used for connection during Acronis Bootable Media creation, press Options and specify the credentials for connection in the Logon settings field:

      

    (!) If you did not specify credentials during Acronis Bootable Media creation, you can leave Logon settings field empty. ISO images downloaded from Acronis website have empty credentials.

  5. Press OK to connect toAcronis Bootable Agent:
