Add user to the "Bypass traverse checking" and "Act as part of the operating system" security policies

  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation

Symptoms

  1. You create a backup task;
  2. The backup task fails with one of the following messages:

    Failed to obtain a substitute user

    Failed to create the substitute user logon session. A required privilege is not held by the client. Because 'DuplicateHandle' failed for the substitute token, the following program has failed to start: '{0}'

Cause

The error occurs if any of the accounts under which Acronis Managed Machine Service runs does not have the Bypass traverse checking and Act as part of the operating system security rights.

Solution

Make sure that the account used to run Acronis Managed Machine Service(Acronis Agent User by default) have the Bypass traverse checking and Act as part of the operating system security rights.
