Acronis Bootable Media is corrupt. Recreate it to fix the issue
This article applies to:
- All Acronis products
Symptoms
- You attempt to boot your machine from Acronis Bootable Media;
- Acronis Bootable Media fails to load with one of the following error messages:
Unable to load initial ramdisk
Kernel panic
VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block
Cause
The Kernel panic error message means that the created Acronis Bootable Media is corrupt.
Solution
Recreate Acronis Bootable Media.
There are two ways to do this:
- Recreate Acronis Bootable Media using the product;
- Download Acronis Bootable Media from the Acronis website. See Downloading Acronis Bootable Media and Burning an ISO Image.
If the issue persists, you can try a different CD/DVD disc or a different disc burner.
