To save to and restore from shared folders, you need to make sure that special permissions are set
Introduction
Using Acronis True Image you can save and restore backup archives to and from shared folders.
To make sure you can save to and restore from shared folders, we recommend setting special permissions as described in this article.
Solution
Setting permissions to save to shared folders
- Navigate to the shared folder;
- Right-click on the folder. Choose Properties;
- Click the Security tab. If there is no Security tab, please see Microsoft KB Article 307874;
- On the Security tab click Advanced;
- On the Permissions tab of Advanced Security Settings select the user account under which you are going to save backup archives to the shared folder. Click Edit;
- On the Permission Entry screen set the following values:
Applies onto: This folder, subfolder and files
Permissions Allow Deny Full Control Traverse Folder / Execute File List Folder / Read Data Read Attributes Read Extended Attributes Create Files / Write Data Create Folders / Append Data Write Attributes Write Extended Attributes Delete Subfolders and Files Delete Read Permissions Change Permissions Take Ownership
