Acronis True Image Echo Build 8163 or lower has compatibility issues with Removable Storage Management of Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008. As a result, tape drives are not supported. Update to the latest build to fix the issue

Description
In Windows Acronis True Image Echo Build 8163 or lower works with tape drives through Removable Storage Management (RSM) component.
Acronis True Image Echo Build 8163 or lower has compatibility issues with RSM component in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008. Hence, Acronis True Image Echo Build 8163 or lower does not support tape drives in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008.
Update to Acronis True Image Echo Build 8206 or higher to have tape support. See Downloading the Latest Build of Acronis Software.
(!) Acronis Backup Server works with tape drives through RSM. Updating to the latest build, will let you work in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2008 with tape drives only local version. Acronis Backup Server does not work with tapes attached to a Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2008 machine.
