Introduction

If you have an issue with Acronis Nonstop Backup, you can use a special Acronis Nonstop Backup Diagnosis Tool, which is built in Acronis True Image Home 2011 starting from Build 6597. See also Viewing Build Number in Acronis True Image Home.

This tool will collect diagnostic information which you can then send to Acronis Customer Central for analysis. This will help resolve the issue with your particular system.

Solution

  1. Make sure you have the latest build of Acronis True Image Home 2011. See Installation of the latest update of an Acronis product;
  2. Check the disk for possible errors with the repair parameter:
    • Go to the Command Prompt (Start-Run -> cmd):

    • Enter the command:

      chkdsk DISK: /r

      where DISK is the drive letter of the partition you need to check. Please note that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

  3. Check if the issue persists after checking the disk for errors. If the issue is reproduced, do the following:
    1. Generate Acronis System Report as described in Acronis True Image Home 2011: Generating System Report;
    2. Go to the Time Explorer Storage folder and get the cdp.metadata file:
    3. Send both the generated system report and the cdp.metadata file to Acronis Customer Central for investigation.
