The issue is with the User Account Control turned on

• Acronis True Image Home 2011

Symptoms

1. You have the Try&Decide mode running;
2. When you right-click on the Try&Decide icon on the Windows toolbar, the options are grayed out:

   

Cause

This is a known issue.

Windows User Account Control (UAC) does not allow execution of the options.

Solution

There are two possible workarounds:

Disable UAC (involves machine reboot):

Windows Vista

1. Click Start -> Control panel:

   

2. Click User Accounts:

   

3. Click User Accounts again:

   

4. Click Turn User Account Control on or off:

   

5. Uncheck the box and click OK:

   

6. Reboot the machine:

   

Windows 7

1. Click Start and type in user account control. Select Change User Account Control settings:

   

2. Drag the bar down to Never notify:

   

3. Reboot the machine.
