Mounting and unmounting backup archives

Introduction
Mounting volumes from a disk backup allows you to access mounted volumes as physical disks. This method is useful if you want to recover several files from a disk/partition backup.
If the volume is mounted in Read/write mode you can modify the backup content: save, move, create, delete files or folders. The changes will be saved as a new incremental backup.
Solution
(!) Images stored in Centralized Managed Vaults, on tapes, and on Acronis Online Backup Storage cannot be mounted. If you want to mount an image stored in a Centralized Managed Vault, you need to Export it first: see Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Exporting Archives and Backups
Mounting image from Welcome screen
Connect to a machine where Acronis Backup & Recovery Agent is installed and click Mount image on the welcome screen:
Mount image assistant will open. To select an archive for mounting, press Change in the Archive section:
Select the necessary disk/partition archive:
To select a backup from the archive, press Change in the Backup section:
The program will show you the list of backups contained in selected archive. Select the necessary backup in the list and click OK :
Press Change in Mount settings :
Select the volumes that you want to mount, what letter to assign to each volume and access mode: Read only or Read/Write. If several volumes are selected for mounting, click on every volume to set its mounting parameters:
Click OK to mount backup as virtual disk.
Mounting image from a vault
(!) This method applies only to Personal and Centralized Unmanaged vaults. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Vaults .
Connect to a machine where Acronis Backup & Recovery Agent is installed. Go to Vaults , select the vault where the necessary archive is located. Press "+" to expand the list of backups in the archive:
Select the necessary backup in the archive and press Mount :
(!) If you select the archive itself, the Mount button will be grayed out. You need to select one of the backups in chain before you can press Mount .
Press Change in Mount settings :
Select the volumes that you want to mount, what letter to assign to each volume and access mode: Read only or Read/Write. If several volumes are selected for mounting, click on every volume to set its mounting parameters:
Click OK to mount backup as virtual disk.
Unmounting image
To unmount the mounted archive via Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 interface, press Manage mounted images on the welcome screen:
On Manage mounted images screen you can Unmount one image or Unmount all :
You can also unmount the image in Windows: select the mounted disk in My Computer, right-click on it and select Unmount in the menu:
