Restoring an archive residing on a shared network folder

This article describes how to restore data from a backup if the backup is situated on a network share.
If the necessary backup is not present in the list of backups (for example if it was created using an earlier version of Acronis True Image Home), you need to browse for backup first and add it to the list of backups.
Browsing for backup on the network
Browse for backup on program main screen:
My network places (or Network) and browse to the machine with the network share:
Alternatively, you can also type in the path to the network share in the
File name field and hit Enter:
(!) If you are typing the path, make sure you type it correctly. If you mistype it and hit Enter, you will still see the authentication screen, but authentication will not pass even with correct credentials. (!) If the network folder is set up as a mapped drive, it will show under Computer (and not under Network). Type in the correct credentials and hit
Use the same credentials that you would normally use to access the share in Windows.
If the network share is available for access by everyone and thus does not have credentials set up, you will not be asked for credentials.
If the credentials are correct, you will see the
Connection established message. Click Connect:
You will see the list of files and folders available in the specified network share. Select the necessary .tib file and press
Add to backup list:
If you have a chain of several backups, select the latest backup in chain.
The file will appear on the list of backups on the main screen. You can launch the restoration assistant by pressing
Backup restoration can be launched directly from the program main screen.
Restoring backup from the main screen
Locate the necessary backup in the list of backups and click
Select the data that you want to recover:
You can view the backup contents as disks instead of partitions using
Switch to disk mode button.
When you select the data you want to recover, you will see possible destinations for recovery:
Select where you want to restore the backup:
Set the recovery options if necessary. Press
Recover now to start recovery:
