Make sure you have both Acronis True Image Home 2012 Upgrade serial number and a serial number from a previous version of Acronis True Image Home

Run the installation file and click "Update" to upgrade the installed components to the latest version

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image Home 2012

Symptoms

1. You attempt to install Acronis True Image Home 2012 over Acronis True Image Home 2011 or Acronis True Image Home 2010;
2. The installation fails.

Cause

Depending on the system configuration, there could be several causes.

Uninstall the Acronis Upgrade Tool from the remote machine and reattempt the remote installation

Download the new build and update the components locally or remotely

Make sure you have the latest Virtual Appliance hardware and that you have no more than two disks

As a workaround, upgrade via ESX host

You are entitled to receive a free upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2012 if you purchased Acronis True Image Home 2011 from an official or authorized store between July 23 2011 - Aug 23 2011. Otherwise you can purchase an upgrade at a price substantially smaller than the full one
