Create SMTP relay in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and then set up E-mail notifications in Acronis Backup & Recovery 10

Introduction

You can set up your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 to relay the E-mail notifications sent by Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

Solution

  1. Set up SMTP relay in your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 as described in Microsoft Exchange Team Blog: Allowing application servers to relay off Exchange Server 2007;
  2. In the Backup or Recovery options of the product, enable the E-mail notifications:

    Type in the IP address of the SMTP server.

    Set the port of the outgoing mail server. By default the port is set to 25.

    Leave both the User name and Password fields blank.
