  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server - Virtual Edition

Symptoms

From time to time in the Acronis Management Server logs you may see the following error entries:

Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'PK_Slice'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.Slice'

Cause

When any operation is performed with a backup in a centralized managed vault, Acronis Storage Node synchronizes its database with Acronis Management Server.

A report about any operation comes to the Acronis Management Server with an ID of the entity (backup ID or archive ID). When the IDs coincide, the Acronis Management Server produces an error in the log.

Solution

These error entries can be safely ignored. The operations are still performed successfully and the backups and archives should still be consistent.
