This article applies to:
- Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server - Virtual Edition
Symptoms
- You have Acronis Agent for ESX/ESXi (Virtual Appliance) installed on VMware ESX Server;
- The IP address of the Acronis Virtual Appliance changes;
- After the IP change, connection to the Acronis Virtual Appliance fails. Scheduled backups of the respective virtual machines may fail too. All respective virtual machines are greyed out.
Cause
Issue in the product. Acronis Management Server fails to update the network information about the Acronis Virtual Appliance.
Solution
This has been fixed and the fix is available in the latest build of the product. See Installation of the Latest Update of an Acronis Product. With the latest build, Acronis Management Server will automatically update the network information after the IP address change and reconnect to the Acronis Virtual Appliance. This will take 15 to 20 minutes.
If you would like to work around the issue without downloading the latest build, please delete the Acronis Agent for ESX/ESXi from the Acronis Management Server and add it back using the new IP Address.
