8992: Hyper-V Booted from Acronis Bootable Media Detects IDE Disks 127.5 GB

Symptoms

  1. From Acronis Bootable Media you boot a Hyper-V virtual machine with an IDE disk bigger than 127.5 GB (e.g. 500 GB);
  2. The IDE disk is detected as 127.5 GB:

Cause

Issue in the product.

Acronis Agent for Hyper-V detects the Hyper-V IDE disks as MS Virtual PC IDE disks that have a 127 GB limitation.

Solution

This has been fixed and the fix is available in the latest build of the product. See Installation of the Latest Update of an Acronis Product.

To work around the issue without installing the latest build, use IDE disks that are under 127 GB in size.
