8991: Hyper-V Booted from Acronis Bootable Media Hangs if Virtual Machine Uses SCSI

Symptoms

  1. You boot a Hyper-V virtual machine from Acronis Bootable Media;
  2. When booted, the Acronis Bootable Media freezes on trying to detect the virtual machine's SCSI disks:

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

This has been fixed and the fix is available in the latest build of the product. See Installation of the Latest Update of an Acronis Product.

To work around the issue without installing the latest build, use IDE disks.

Alternatively, you can also use WinPE with the Acronis plug-in.
