Deep System Scan can consume up to 80% of CPU

Deep System Scan is one of the features of Acronis Internet Security Suite 2010: Antivirus.

Since Deep System Scan analyzes the entire system and scans for all types of malware, it can consume up 80% of the machine's CPU.

It is recommended to run Deep System Scan with low priority or when the system is idle.

You can decrease the priority of the process by doing the following:

  • Make sure that Deep System Scan is running:

  • Invoke Windows Task Manager (Alt-Ctrl-Del -> Start Task Manager);
  • On the Processes tab right-click on uiscan.exe Acronis Antivirus Scanner and select Set Priority -> Low:
