• Acronis Snap Deploy 3

Symptoms

1. You have OS Deploy Server of Acronis Snap Deploy installed on the same machine with Acronis PXE Server of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10;
2. Connecting Acronis Snap Deploy Agents to the OS Deploy Server results in numerous error entries in the log:

   Failed to start multicast session on FileServer

   

3. The deployment is not possible.

Cause

Acronis PXE Server and OS Deploy Server are incompatible. They both use the same module - FileServer, which is responsible for TCP sessions. The versions of FileServer are different for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and Acronis Snap Deploy 3. Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 FileServer is incompatible with OS Deploy Server of Acronis Snap Deploy 3.

Solution

This has been fixed in the latest builds of both Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and Acronis Snap Deploy 3. See Installation of the Latest Update of an Acronis Product.
