How to purchase or upgrade Acronis Online Backup subscription

Description

Acronis Online Backup (AOB) is a part of Acronis True Image Home. See Acronis Online Backup in Acronis True Image Home 2010 or Acronis True Image Home 2011: Online Backup. AOB is also a part of Acronis Backup and Security 2010 and Acronis Backup and Security 2011. There is also Acronis True Image Home 2010 Online Backup (Standalone).

In case you own Acronis True Image Home, you need to be subscribed to Acronis Online Backup to be able to back up your data to online Acronis servers.

If you have Acronis Backup and Security 2010 (Standard or Premium), you have AOB included for 1 year available. For more information please check Acronis Backup and Security 2010 License Policy or Acronis Backup and Security 2010 License Policy.

(!) Acronis Online Backup does not have a serial number. The product is registered under your account as a subscription.

Technical support for Acronis Online Backup is available for the whole duration of Acronis Online Backup subscription period. Support is available 24x7 via e-mail and Live Chat.

To purchase, extend, or view your subscription options, you need to:

Log in to your account at the Acronis website and click Online Backup:

Subscribing to a free 30 day trial Acronis Online Backup service

• Click Activate your free 250 GB trial subscription;
• You are now subscribed and can use the service for 30 days:

  

• Trial subscription will expire in 30 days.

Purchasing Acronis Online Backup service

• Choose your subscription plan based on storage size and payment method:

  

• Clicking Proceed to Secure Checkout will bring you to Acronis Online Store where you will be able to pay:

  

• When you click on review and complete order button, you will be able to review the order details and if you scroll down this page, you can enable the option of auto charges

  

(!) Please, read carefully the following information before checking this box:

Checking this box will keep your Online Backup service automatically renewed.

If your payment method is monthly, your credit card will be automatically charged once every month. If your payment method is annual, your credit card will be automatically charged once every year.

In both cases, every time your credit card is charged, you will receive an E-mail from cs@cleverbridge.com. You will be able to view details of the transaction in the E-Mail and/or cancel the automatic renewal.

(!) If you choose to cancel the automatic renewal by clicking the link in the E-mail, your whole subscription will be deleted from the Acronis database, and you will have no access to the backups. Though the data stored online will not be destroyed. Automatic charges to your credit card will be stopped. And you will have the access to the data only when you have a valid subscription.

(!) Clicking Delete subscription from your account will also stop automatic charges to your credit card. Your whole subscription will be deleted from the Acronis database. You will have no access to the backups, but the data stored online will not be destroyed. So, it will give you an option to have your backups back by retrieving the subscription.

(!) There is no way to stop automatic charges to your credit card without deleting your whole subscription period .

Extending Acronis Online Backup service

• Choose your subscription plan based on the payment method:

  

• Clicking Proceed to Secure Checkout will bring you to Acronis Online Store where you will be able to pay:

(!) It is strongly recommended to extend your Online Backup service on the last day of your subscription period, or even a day after your subscription expires. Choosing to extend the Online Backup service before it expires will start a new subscription period, and the amount of money already paid will not be recalculated:

Sample scenario

• You choose the monthly payment option and pay on October 2, 2009. This sets your subscription expiration date to November 2, 2009;
• On October 12, 2009 you decide to extend the subscription period for another month and make the payment. This will set your subscription expiration date to November 12, 2009. The amount of money you paid at the previous step will not be recalculated or refunded.

(!) It is not possible to extend the annual plan. Here is an example:


• You choose your annual payment option and pay on October 2, 2009. This sets your subscription expiration date to October 2, 2010;
• On January 2, 2010 you decide to extend the subscription period for another year and make the payment:
  • If you choose the same backup plan that you already have (e.g. 25 GB), your credit card will not be charged, and the expiration date will stay the same - October 2, 2010.
  • If you choose to upgrade your backup plan (e.g. from 25 GB to 30 GB), your credit card will be charged with the price difference between the two backup plans. The expiration date will stay the same - October 2, 2010.

Unsubscribing from Acronis Online Backup service

Click Delete subscription:



(!) This will delete your whole subscription from Acronis database, and your data stored online will be destroyed.

Access to data after subscription ends

After your Acronis Online Backup subscription expires, the backed up data is still accessible:

• For 5 days after Acronis Online Backup subscription expires you can continue making backups to Online Storage;
• During 30 days after after Acronis Online Backup subscription expires you can restore data from Online Storage;
• 30 days after Acronis Online Backup subscription expiration the data on Online Storage is destroyed. 

(!) This applies both to trial and paid subscription.

If you renew Acronis Online Backup subscription during 30 days after subscription expiration, the existing backups will be kept and you can continue backing up data to the same archive.
