The utility removes Acronis True Image Echo from Windows. It does not remove Acronis Secure Zone or deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager

Description

Acronis True Image Echo Cleanup Utility is a console application that removes all traces of Acronis True Image Echo products from the operating system.

It is recommended to use Acronis True Image Echo Cleanup Utility only if you cannot remove an Acronis True Image Echo product through Add/Remove programs.

The utility is written using plain commands of command line interpreter (cmd.exe) included in Windows 2000 and higher.

Installation

The program does not require installation.

Usage

(!) The utility does not remove Acronis Startup Recovery Manager if it is activated. Please deactivate it before running the utility.

(!) The utility does not remove Acronis Secure Zone. Please remove it manually before running the utility.

(!) Running the utility may close all Windows Explorer windows.

  1. Download Acronis True Image Echo Cleanup Utility and unpack it;
  2. Hit Start -> Run, and type in cmd. Browse to the folder you saved the utility to and run it:

  3. You will be asked to enter "Y" to remove all traces of Acronis True Image Echo components, or "N" to exit:

  4. After selecting "Y" the utility will start its work:

(!) After using Cleanup Utility, it is strongly recommended not to reboot the machine, go to Start -> Run -> regedit, and verify that there are no snapman*, tdrpman*, timounter strings in the following keys:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} -> UpperFilters and LowerFilters
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters and LowerFilters

If there are, please remove them. Then you can reboot the machine.

(!) Make sure that you use the correct Acronis Cleanup Utility for the product that you have. Using incorrect Acronis Cleanup Utility may lead to unpredictable results.
