
Hidden files or folders are not displayed in Time Explorer if Windows Folder options are set not to show hidden files, folders, and drives

Introduction
In Windows folder options you can set to hide or show hidden files and folders.
Example

If folder options are set to show hidden files and folders, then you will be able to view these in Time Explorer.
If folder options are set not to show hidden files and folders, then you will not see these in Time Explorer.

Solution
To be able to view hidden files and folders in Time Explorer, set Windows folder options to view these:
- In Windows Explorer, click Tools -> Folder Options:

(!) In Windows 7 and Windows Vista you may need to hit Alt to see the toolbar.
- Click View. Check Show hidden files, folders, and drives and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recomended):

- Click OK.

If you set folder options not to show hidden files and folders, and recover a folder with hidden files and subfolders, they will still be recovered.
