Copy the image chunks from CD or DVD discs to a local or external hard disk, or to a network share, and restore the files

Introduction

When you create an image of your system (a disk or a partition backup) and save it to CD or DVD discs, Acronis software splits the backup file into several volumes to fit on the discs.

The image (disk or partition backup) stores the backup as sectors rather than individual files. This means that a single file can be spread across multiple CD or DVD discs. As a result, Acronis software may need to access a range of CD or DVD discs to restore a file from an image.

Solution

Copy all the image volumes from CD or DVD discs to a local or external hard disk, or to a network share. Restore the files from the copied image.
