On an attempt to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation on server versions of Windows, the product errors out with "Serial number is incorrect"

Symptoms

1. You are trying to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation on a server version of Windows;
2. When the product asks for the serial number, you enter a correct license for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation;
3. The product errors out with the following error message:

The serial number is incorrect. Please enter the correct number.

Cause

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation (Standalone) does not support server versions of Windows. See Operating Systems Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Supports.

Solution

Install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation on a non-server version of Windows.
