Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is not deactivated after upgrading from Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Linux to Acronis True Image Echo Server for Linux

Symptoms

  • You have an activated Acronis Startup Recovery Manager of Acronis True Image Echo;
  • You upgrade from Acronis True Image Echo to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, without deactivating Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. See Upgrading to Standalone Editions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 or Upgrading to Advanced Editions of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10;
  • After the successful installation of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 over Acronis True Image Echo, there is no option to boot into Acronis Startup Recovery Manager of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. You can only boot into Acronis Startup Recovery Manager of Acronis True Image Echo or into the operating system.

Cause

Acronis Startup Recovery Manager of Acronis True Image Echo was not automatically deactivated during the upgrade installation.

Solution

(!) This has been fixed. The fix is available in the latest released build of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

If you would like to fix the issue without downloading the update, there are three possible workarounds:

  • Deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager of Acronis True Image Echo before installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 over it.
  • Delete Acronis Secure Zone and create it anew with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.
  • If the issue is on a Windows machine, restore the Windows boot loader. See Restoring Windows Boot Loader Manually.
