How to replace serial number

This article applies to:

• Acronis True Image Home 2012

Introduction

In some cases you may need to change the serial number for the installed Acronis True Image Home 2012, e.g. if you purchased a new license for this machine.

Solution

1. In Acronis True Image Home 2012 interface, go to ? -> Change Serial Number:

   

2. Enter the new serial number in the pop-up window and press Activate:

   

3. If you are entering an upgrade serial number, you also need to provide a serial number for an earlier version of Acronis True Image Home, e.g. Acronis True Image Home 2010:

After replacing the serial number, you will need to activate the program again. If your computer is connected to the Internet, Acronis True Image Home 2012 will be activated automatically. For manual activation, see Acronis True Image Home 2012: Activation.

You can check what serial number is currently used by the product in ? -> About Acronis True Image Home:

(!) The described procedure only works for Acronis True Image Home 2012 itself. To change the serial number in Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack, you need to remove Plus Pack, and then reinstall it using the new serial number.
